The tuner isn't hearing my instrument

Retune needs microphone access. Check Settings → Retune → Microphone is on, and play close to the phone in a reasonably quiet room.

How do I change tuning?

Tap the tuning name at the top of the tuner (for example Standard ⌄) to pick another one, or open the Tunings tab to browse the built-in and your own tunings.

Can I create my own custom tuning?

Yes. In the Tunings tab, tap +, choose an instrument, set the target note for each string, name it, and save. You can edit, duplicate, reorder, and delete your tunings any time. Custom tunings are part of the one-time Retune Pro unlock.

What instruments does Retune tune?

Guitar (6 and 7-string), bass, and ukulele. Guitar tuning is free; the other instruments are part of Retune Pro.

What is Retune Pro, and is it a subscription?

Retune Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks custom tunings, bass / ukulele / 7-string, and the metronome. The guitar tuner and its nine built-in tunings are free.

I bought Retune Pro on another device

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Pro unlocks for any device signed in to the same Apple ID.

Can I change the reference pitch?

Yes. In Settings, adjust A4 calibration anywhere from 415 to 466 Hz to match an ensemble or a fixed-pitch instrument. The default is standard concert pitch, 440 Hz.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Retune runs entirely on your device and needs no network connection. It works in airplane mode.
